JOB SUMMARY:
The Floating Pharmacy Technician provides pharmaceutical services to long-term care residents in a manner that maximizes quality, patient safety and exceptional customer service. This position ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
To perform this job, an individual must accomplish each essential function satisfactorily, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
o Provide dispensing assistance under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
o Process daily workflow to provide timely and efficient medication delivery
o Assist with inventory control
o Actively participate in quarterly physical inventory count
o Ensure compliance with all record keeping requirements
o Communicate information effectively to supervisor and others in a timely matter
o Maintain proficiency with computer systems
o Effectively demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness and continually strive to improve quality standards
o Maintain confidentiality of work-related information and materials in compliance with HIPAA regulations
o Adhere to the principles of the Employee Standards and Code of Conduct and reports any violations
o Knowledgeable and compliant with current company policies and procedures and state and federal regulations
o Attend meetings and in-services as required
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Required Computer Software/Equipment used:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
o High school diploma or equivalent
o Completion of pharmacy technician program preferred
o Active Mississippi Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration required
o Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred
o Must complete continuing education in pharmacy-related topics as required to maintain certification
o One (1) to three (3) years of pharmacy technician experience
