POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a Floating Production Supervisor to provide leadership and operational support across multiple manufacturing departments
This full-time position provides supervisory coverage for vacations, leaves of absence, and other staffing needs, making it an ideal opportunity for a flexible, adaptable leader who enjoys variety and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
The Floating Production Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production while supporting employees, coordinating daily operations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives
The successful candidate must be willing and able to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift, including extended periods on any shift, based on business needs
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and support production teams across multiple manufacturing departments
Ensure production schedules are achieved while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards
Monitor workflow, staffing, and production performance to maximize operational efficiency
Coach, mentor, and develop employees to promote engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement
Promote and enforce all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements
Identify production challenges, implement corrective actions, and recommend process improvements
Collaborate with Scheduling, Quality, Maintenance, and other departments to resolve production issues and maintain operational continuity
Provide supervisory coverage on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift for vacations, leaves of absence, and other business needs
Maintain accurate production records and ensure required documentation is completed
Foster a positive work environment built on teamwork, communication, and accountability
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Strong analytical skills with the ability to monitor production performance and ensure compliance with quality standards
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities with a continuous improvement mindset
Proven leadership, coaching, and employee development skills
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to assist in troubleshooting manufacturing equipment and production issues
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Self-motivated, dependable, and results-oriented with a strong work ethic.
Ability to adapt quickly to different departments, teams, and production environments
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Business, or a related field preferred
Minimum of 3 years of Production Supervisor experience or 5 years of industrial manufacturing experience preferred
Plastics manufacturing experience preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Experience with J.D. Edwards ERP system preferred
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:
Must be flexible and willing to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift based on business needs
Ability to work extended periods on any shift while providing supervisory coverage for vacations, leaves of absence, or other staffing requirements
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds
Ability to distinguish colors
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
