The Hemodialysis Floor Nurse is responsible for overseeing daily dialysis operations, providing direct patient care, and managing clinical and administrative functions. This role ensures high-quality patient outcomes, regulatory compliance, staff supervision, and effective coordination with facility leadership and physicians.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and oversight of dialysis staff and daily operations
Ensure safe, high-quality patient care and address patient concerns
Manage staffing schedules, patient census, supplies, and equipment
Ensure compliance with ESRD regulations, QAPI standards, and company policies
Participate in policy development and continuous quality improvement initiatives
Hire, train, evaluate, and coach dialysis personnel
Maintain accurate medical, operational, and billing records
Collaborate with Medical Directors, physicians, and facility administration
Review and approve timesheets, expenses, and required reports
Maintain on-site presence during scheduled work hours
Minimum Qualifications
Active RN license in the state of practice
Minimum 1 year of nursing experience, including at least 6 months in hemodialysis
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
CPR certification preferred
Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
Ability to work independently, lead teams, and adapt to changing priorities
Strong critical thinking, organizational, and leadership skills
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform routine physical activities
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted
