FLOOR SUPPORT ASSOCIATE - Gjelina NYCompensation: $11.35/hour cash wage + $5.65/hour tip credit, for a minimum wage of $17.00/hour. Estimated total hourly earnings, including tips: $35-$38/hour.Part-Time POSITION SUMMARY: As a team member of the Gjelina Group, every role is key in our mission to consistently create thoughtfully nuanced experiences for guests in each of our locations. Each position in our team requires teamwork, a flexible schedule, the ability to stay calm within a busy environment, and the ability to multitask and stay organized.The Floor Support Associate ensures the tables are bussed and cleaned in a timely manner. Provide full operational support during service, maintaining the cleanliness of the venue pre-service, during service, and after service. Set and reset tables in a timely manner, constantly manicuring tables throughout service and clearing tables with efficiency and grace. Assist in fulfilling soft beverage orders, coffee & tea orders. Manage your time, including taking rest and meal breaks in compliance with California Labor Law. Keep the Manager informed when you leave the kitchen.Maintain high standards of appearance and hygiene that include clean clothes up to dress code standards, nails and hair and no heavy perfumes/colognes.Knowledge of all dishes on the menu, to be able to identify them and to know their ingredientsAdhere to all health, safety, alcohol control and sanitation protocolsKnow our regulars and encourage new guests to become regulars by establishing a rapport that includes the guests' likes and dislikesOrganize, clean, and maintain all areas of service, especially server stationsPrepare the floor at the opening and closing of each shift; stocking, cleaning, and preparing for serviceClear dishes and glassware from tables; know the proper way to remove a dish, how to carry dishes, and how to reset a tablePolishing and restocking glassware as neededPolishing and rolling cutlery as neededAssist the bartender with stocking and restocking the bar, fulfilling orders, and clearing the barAccurately run drinks to tablesAccurately run food to tablesAttend to guest needs at the bar, and all tables on the floorCommunicate clearly with expo and managers to support with serviceUnderstand the floorplan, table numbers, and seat positions of the entire venueAttend mandatory trainings and pre-shift meetingsSupporting the management team in all aspects of in-house service and eventsOrganize, clean, and maintain all areas of service, including Expo stationsPrepare stations at the opening and closing of each shift; stocking, cleaning, and preparing for serviceClear dishes and glassware from tables; know the proper way to place a dish on a table, how to carry dishes, and how to set each dishUnderstand the right of way (guests, counter, and staff)Communicate clearly with Expo, servers, and both FOH + BOH managers to support servicePerforms other duties as assigned by supervisor / managerQUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty.
