SUMMARY: The Floor Tech cleans all floor areas of the facility in a Professional manner in order to reflect the highest integrity of the Custodial Department. (Per industry standards, approximately 4,500 - 5,000 sq ft will need to be cleaned within 1 hour - this will vary by location)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner in order to reflect the highest integrity of the Company.
- Reports to work on time and dressed in company uniform to also include employee badge and black slip resistant safety shoes.
- Identifies and reports safety hazards to supervisor.
- Follows Safety Procedures which include the correct use of PPE and other Safety requirements (i.e., Bloodborne pathogens) based on the job. Responsible for cleaning all bio-waste using these procedures.
- Works a flexible work schedule which includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ensures that custodial closets remain locked at all times and keys are properly signed in and out and are always left at the job site.
- Keeps hallways and pathways clear of carts, cleaning equipment, tools, and any other hazardous items that could result in trips and falls.
- Performs routine cleaning of the floors on the assigned facility in a neat and sanitary manner.
- Mops, sweeps, scrubs, and strips floor, applies floor sealers and finishes.
- Ensures that full vacuuming will be required in traffic areas and any visible debris on carpets.
- Spot clean carpets as needed, utilizing extraction and bonneting methods.
- Maintains hard floors with no build up in corners and provide dust mop.
- Polishes floor using buffing products to restore shine high gloss and uniform appearance to the traffic areas.
- Maintains and keeps equipment clean and in good operating conditions.
- Secures the work area with all Safety Signs.
- Reports safety hazards as appropriate.
- Locks and unlocks doors and windows to offices and other rooms as necessary. Turns off lights when rooms are unoccupied.
- Performs work on his/her own with normal supervision.
- Observes safety precautions at all times.
- Performs related work as directed.
- At the end of the shift leaves equipment clean and ready to use including cleaning materials. Completes general cleaning duties as requested.
- Completes additional duties as assigned.
