Job Description

Estimator – Flooring SummaryThe Estimator will support the Project Management and Sales teams by preparing accurate takeoffs and cost estimates for commercial flooring projects. This role is responsible for gathering project information, developing detailed estimates for materials and labor, and ensuring accuracy throughout the quoting process.Key ResponsibilitiesReview and verify installation drawings for accuracy and completenessRequest and collect project documentation from clients, general contractors, and architectural partnersPrepare detailed takeoffs and estimating "keys" using estimating softwareTrack estimating time per project for budgeting, quoting, and billing purposesCollaborate with Sales and Project Management teams to ensure project alignmentProvide technical support during the estimating and pre-construction phasesParticipate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement effortsSupport overall team goals related to efficiency, accuracy, and client satisfactionPerform additional duties as neededQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferredMinimum of 5 years of related flooring or construction estimating experience preferredExperience with commercial flooring, installation, or project management strongly preferredStrong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-throughExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentAbility to interpret project requirements and clarify key details with stakeholdersFlexibility to work extended hours as needed to meet project deadlinesTechnical SkillsAbility to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentsProficiency in basic math, including measurements, percentages, and calculations related to area and volumeFamiliarity with estimating software and project documentation processesPhysical RequirementsAbility to sit or stand for extended periodsAbility to lift up to 30–40 poundsOccasional travel to job sites may be requiredValid driver's license requiredAdditional InformationThis role may require occasional evenings or weekend work depending on project demands
