Job Description


We are seeking a skilled Floor Installer for various new construction commercial projects throughout West Michigan. This individual will install, repair, and replace a variety of commercial flooring systems while ensuring high-quality workmanship, customer satisfaction, and compliance with project specifications. Worked independently and with installation teams to complete projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule.


Responsibilities


+ Install carpet, vinyl plank (LVP), VCT, sheet vinyl, laminate, hardwood, and other flooring materials.

+ Work on commercial and industrial flooring projects throughout West Michigan

+ Utilize hand tools and equipment for installation tasks.

+ Measured, cut, and fitted flooring materials to ensure accurate installation and proper finish.

+ Prepared subfloors by cleaning, leveling, patching, grinding, and removing existing floor coverings.

+ Read project drawings, specifications, and work orders to ensure proper installation requirements were met.

+ Install baseboards, crown molding, and complete finish work as required.


Essential Skills & Qualifications


+ 3+ years of flooring experience within residential or commercial settings.

+ Proficiency with hand and power tools.

+ Ability to read and work from blueprints, project plans, or specifications.

+ Experience installing carpet, vinyl (plank or sheet), VCT, laminate, or hardwood.

Work Environment


Work in commercial buildings from Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays. Expect to work 40 to 50 hours per week. Projects are located in Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, and the surrounding areas.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kalamazoo, MI.


Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
