Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Flux Core & MIG Welder to join a growing fabrication team in Tulsa. This position is responsible for welding and fabricating heavy steel components while maintaining strict quality standards, production goals, and workplace safety.
The ideal candidate has strong Flux Core and MIG welding experience, is comfortable working with heavy materials, and has experience operating overhead material handling equipment.
Required Experience & Skills
Previous experience performing Flux Core (.045 and 1/16") and MIG (GMAW) welding
General steel fabrication knowledge and welding skills
Ability to safely operate overhead cranes and winches
Experience with heavy steel fabrication preferred
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Willingness to learn specialized welding processes as needed
Ability to safely lift, move, and handle steel materials
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform Flux Core and MIG welding on heavy steel components
Read and interpret fabrication drawings, work orders, and welding specifications
Fabricate and assemble structural steel components according to production requirements
Safely operate overhead cranes, winches, and material handling equipment
Inspect completed welds for quality, accuracy, and compliance with company standards
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Follow all company safety policies, welding procedures, and quality standards
Assist with additional fabrication and production duties as assigned
Weld Test Requirements
Candidates must successfully complete:
Set up .045 Flux Core wire
Weld 1-inch plate together
3G Plate Weld
No gap
No bevel
No fill
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with 1/16-inch Dual Shield Flux Core welding
Structural steel welding experience
Familiarity with welding inspection standards and quality control procedures
Experience working in heavy industrial fabrication environments
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and repetitive physical activity throughout the shift
Ability to safely operate welding equipment while wearing required PPE
Comfortable working around heavy steel, welding fumes, sparks, heat, and industrial machinery
Work Environment
Heavy industrial fabrication and manufacturing facility
Exposure to welding equipment, overhead cranes, heavy steel materials, heat, sparks, and shop noise
Fast-paced production environment focused on safety, quality, and productivity
