Food Service Workers/FNS Trayline Worker in our Food and Nutrition Services department may perform assigned duties in one or more of the following areas: Cafeteria Server, Catering, Cold Production, Porter, Tray line Support, Late Tray Delivery, Storeroom Clerk and/or Floor Stock Attendant. All FANS team members adhere to food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures. The hospital dining schedule features hours and shifts that create a great work - life balance. What You Will Do In This Role
· Represent FANS in an exemplary manner by adhering to the ALWAYS Values and Code of Conduct.
· To ensure timely and efficient meal service to all patient service areas.
· Explain the FANS procedures to new patients as needed.
· Actively resolve customer and/or guest concerns in a timely manner.
· To utilize computer (Meditech, Computrition, Outlook, and Microsoft office software) and manual systems for completion of required daily/weekly/monthly reports, such as shift reports, inventory logs, attendance logs, etc.
· To assist in preparation of work schedules and assist in performance evaluations and competencies of all employees.
· Aid the host/hostess during tray line depending on staffing.
· To direct, monitor, and participate in the overall sanitation and safety of the department and employees in accordance with both company standards and regulatory agencies.
· To train new employees and ensure consistent training of current staff on policies, procedures, and equipment
· Communicate with members of the healthcare team, including nurses and dietitians.
· To notify management of any food shortages and equipment breakdowns; takes appropriate corrective action as needed to address equipment repairs and adjust procedures as indicated.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
What Qualifications You Will Need
· High School diploma or equivalent required
· Associate’s Degree (preferably in Nutrition, Hotel/Restaurant/Hospitality, or Culinary) preferred.
· Certified Dietary Manager or a Nutrition/Dietetic Technician preferred, but not required.
· 3 years of food service management experience preferred, preferably in a high-volume restaurant, hospital, hotel, or room service environment1 year of college or technical training preferred.
· Food Handler’s Certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
· All Hospital assigned HealthStream activities must be completed as indicated.
· Maintain confidentiality both employee and patient related and complies with HIPAA standards
· Bi-lingual is a plus.
· Math, reasoning and organizational skills.
· Strong communication skills both verbal and written; ability to write routine reports & correspondence.
· Intermediate computer skills, knowledge of Outlook, Excel, and Word.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent attention to details.
· Ability to read & interpret documents such as safety rules, equipment operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
· Ability to safely operate all kitchen equipment.
· Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with a culturally diverse workforce.
· Critical thinking skills.
· Must be flexible & able to adjust to operational demands
· Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
· Essential function of the job includes: Walking and standing daily, carrying and pushing up to 50 lbs.
· Approximately 100% inside work.
