Folding & Imaging Mechanic

SURESTAFF is hiring for a Folder & Imaging Mechanic for a client in Wheeling, IL. The Folder & Imaging Mechanic is responsible for setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining folding and imaging equipment within the print production process. This role ensures high-quality output, efficient machine performance, and adherence to safety and quality standards while supporting team members on the production line.
Pay Rate: $22-35/hr. 
Available shifts:

• 1st shift: 6:00am-2:00pm
• 3rd shift: 10:00pm-6:00am

Responsibilities of the Folder & Imaging Mechanic:

• Set up and operate a wide range of folding and imaging equipment, including feeders, counters, glue systems, inkjet heads, and camera systems.
• Perform routine setup tasks such as paper transport, attaching components, configuring glue applications, and loading inkjet files.
• Build and adjust inkjet and camera system setups, including placement, verification, and file management.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues, perform preventative maintenance, and complete minor repairs when parts are available.
• Collaborate with operators, feeders, and catchers to ensure proper loading, production, and packing of products.
• Achieve and strive to exceed target production rates while maintaining quality standards.
• Monitor quality control systems, respond to QC alerts, and escalate issues to supervisors or technicians as needed.
• Train team members on machine setup, safety procedures, and operational best practices.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of required production documentation.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Perform other duties as assigned.

 Required Qualifications of the Folder & Imaging Mechanic:

• High school diploma or GED
• 2+ years of folding and imaging equipment experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude with attention to detail
• Bilingual, English and Spanish preferred
• Ability to stand/walk for long periods throughout a shift
• Comfortable lifting, moving, and handling production materials and equipment safely
