Position Summary

The Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Club’s food and beverage outlets, ensuring exceptional service standards, operational efficiency, and outstanding member and guest experience. This position provides leadership, direction, and support to dining room operations, banquet functions, and front-of-house teams while maintaining the traditions, hospitality standards, and service expectations of a private country club environment.

The Food & Beverage Manager works closely with the Assistant General Manager, Executive Chef and Catering team, to ensure seamless coordination between culinary and service operations. This role requires a strong presence throughout Club dining areas, particularly during peak service periods, to support staff, interact with members, and ensure service excellence.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily food and beverage operations, including dining room service, member events, private functions, and special Club activities.
  • Maintain a visible presence on the dining room floor during service periods to ensure exceptional member service, address concerns, and support the service team.
  • Establish and maintain service standards, dining room procedures, and operational expectations.
  • Monitor member satisfaction by engaging with members and guests, gathering feedback, and proactively resolving service concerns.
  • Assist in developing and implementing service strategies that enhance the overall Club dining experience.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and support to dining room supervisors, servers, bartenders, hosts, and support staff.
  • Assist with staffing plans, scheduling, labor management, and maintaining appropriate staffing levels based on business needs.
  • Ensure all front-of-house employees are properly trained on service standards, Club policies, safety procedures, and hospitality expectations.
  • Coordinate with the Executive Chef and culinary team to ensure smooth communication between kitchen and service staff.
  • Oversee execution of dining events, banquets, member functions, and special Club activities.
  • Ensure dining areas, service stations, and member spaces are maintained according to Club standards.
  • Assist with inventory management, ordering processes, cost controls, and maintaining departmental budgets.
  • Monitor compliance with sanitation, safety, and health regulations.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and development of Food & Beverage team members.
  • Assist with creating a positive workplace culture focused on teamwork, professionalism, and hospitality.
  • Handle member concerns and service recovery situations with professionalism and discretion.
  • Maintain knowledge of Club offerings, menus, events, and member preferences.
  • Perform opening and closing managerial duties as needed, including supervising service operations and completing operational reports.
  • Participate in Club meetings and collaborate with leadership to improve Food & Beverage operations.
  • Oversee daily dining room operations, including opening, closing, and service procedures.

Qualifications

  • Previous management experience in food and beverage operations, hospitality, private clubs, hotels, or upscale restaurants preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of dining room operations, service standards, and hospitality practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to remain highly visible and engaged with members, guests, and staff.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience managing and developing hospitality teams.
  • Knowledge of POS systems, labor management, and inventory controls preferred.
