Food and Nutrition Service: Truck Driver

POSITION SUMMARY

Operate a safe and organized transportation box truck to deliver food and products to various locations. Working closely with the Packing Coordinator and alongside another employee, load and unload carts and transportation units in a safe and efficient manner, coordinating truck routes, and performing basic maintenance to the truck, liftgate, and box container.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Maintain and perform basic repairs to food cabinets, flatbed carts, and kitchen carts

2. Maintain and perform basic upkeep with the truck and hydraulic lift

3. Communicate effectively with staff members within and outside of the department in a professional manner

4. Troubleshoot issues with repair personnel as needed. Coordinate repair services when required

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Work in collaboration with kitchen staff to assist in various capacities when time allows

2. Assume duties of other staff members on an occasional or temporary basis

3. Perform other duties as assigned which are fairly within the scope of duties normally performed by clerical staff members
