Title: Food Associate
Pay: $17.50-$18.00/hour
Location: 67 W IKEA Way, Draper, UT 84020
Hours: Thursday Monday
  • Monday & Thursday: 12:30 PM 9:00 PM
  • Friday & Saturday: 1:00 PM 9:30 PM
  • Sunday: 12:00 PM 8:30 PM
Overview
Join the IKEA Food team and help create a welcoming dining experience for customers. This role includes food preparation, serving, cashiering, stocking, cleaning, and maintaining food safety standards in a fast-paced retail environment.
Job Description
  • Prepare and serve IKEA Food menu items according to company recipes and food safety standards.
  • Deliver excellent customer service by assisting guests with menu items, ingredients, and allergens.
  • Operate the cash register and process transactions accurately.
  • Clean and maintain dining areas, beverage stations, condiment stations, tables, dish return areas, and kitchen equipment.
  • Wash dishes, cookware, utensils, trays, and other food service equipment.
  • Stock and rotate food products and supplies using First In, First Out (FIFO) practices.
  • Merchandise and replenish the Swedish Food Market.
  • Ensure menu boards, shelf tags, and pricing are accurate.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Report equipment issues and safety concerns promptly.
  • Complete the required 90-minute Food Safety Training on the first day.
  • Obtain a Food Handler Certification within 30 days of employment if required by local regulations.
Required Skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic cash handling skills.
  • Ability to follow food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Willingness to perform food preparation, cleaning, stocking, and cashier responsibilities.
  • Food Handler Card/Certification required within 30 days of employment (if required by local jurisdiction).
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in a high-volume customer-facing environment.
  • Experience in retail, food service, or hospitality.
  • Knowledge of merchandising and product presentation.
