    Job Description

    Food & Beverage Support Role (Food runner, Busser, Host) – Join Our Team at the Portland Regency Hotel & Spa!

    Schedule (subject to changes): Typically 3 runner shifts and 3 host shifts. The current need is Monday-Friday, with the shifts ranging from: Runner  7:00 AM - 3:00pm and/or 3:00pm - 11:00pm and Host 11:00am-7:00pm. Weekend and holiday availability; full-time (minimum of 30 hours per week).

    Full-Time benefits include Medical, Dental, Life, Holidays, and PTO. Part-Time benefits include Sick Time. All employees receive HHA Discounts, Uniform, parking, and Employee Meal. 401k plan with a match after one year.

    Position Summary:
    Responsible for timely and efficient food delivery to F&B outlets and guest rooms, while maintaining cleanliness, organization, and strong communication within the team.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Deliver food promptly and accurately to F&B outlets and guest rooms.

    • Answer and process room service phone orders accurately and efficiently.

    • Prepare trays and carts for room service delivery, ensuring all necessary utensils and accompaniments are included.

    • Inspect food and beverage items to ensure they meet quality and presentation standards prior to delivery.

    • Retrieve room service trays and carts in a timely manner.

    • Deliver VIP amenities and special orders as assigned.

    • Maintain knowledge of daily specials and menu offerings.

    • Assist with resetting tables and seating guests as needed.

    • Clear dirty dishes and glassware from wait stations and dining areas.

    • Stock and replenish wait stations, salad dressings, bread stations, and room service supplies as needed.

    • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, room service areas, carts, and all workspaces; complete end-of-shift cleaning duties.

    • Communicate effectively with hosts, servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service operations.

    • Support dining room operations as needed to ensure efficient guest service.

    Qualifications

    • Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred, but we’re happy to train the right person!
    • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests and team members.
    • Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, policies, and procedures.
    • Comfortable writing basic reports or messages and speaking confidently with customers or colleagues.
    • Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible morning shifts, including weekends.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
    • Frequent talking, hearing, and use of hands and arms; occasional climbing or balancing.
    • Ability to lift or move up to 25 lbs as needed.
    • Must be able to adjust focus and have close and distance vision.

    Work Environment

    • May be exposed to wet or humid conditions, heat, and kitchen equipment.
    • Moderate noise levels typical of a restaurant environment.
