Kiawah Island Club is seeking an energetic, service-focused Food & Beverage Supervisor to join the team at The Marsh House. Overlooking the beautiful Kiawah River, The Marsh House is a vibrant gathering place where Members and their guests enjoy exceptional coastal cuisine, handcrafted cocktails, and warm Lowcountry hospitality in a relaxed yet refined setting.
The Food & Beverage Supervisor will support the daily front-of-house operations, ensuring memorable Member experiences through exceptional service, team leadership, and operational excellence. This individual will work closely with the Food & Beverage Manager, Restaurant Manager, Clubhouse Manager, and Culinary Team to help create a welcoming atmosphere while upholding the high standards that define Kiawah Island Club.
Leadership & Team Development
- Provide daily leadership, guidance, and support to front-of-house team members to ensure exceptional hospitality and personalized service.
- Assist in creating a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement while promoting the values and standards of Kiawah Island Club.
- Assist with onboarding, training, and developing service staff.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and recognition to team members to encourage growth and engagement.
- Lead by example during service, maintaining a visible presence on the floor and supporting the team during peak business periods.
Operations Management
- Support daily dining room operations, ensuring smooth execution of lunch, dinner, bar, and special event service.
- Ensure consistency in service standards, food presentation, cleanliness, and operational procedures.
- Assist with dining room floor plans, reservations, seating assignments, and service flow to maximize efficiency and Member satisfaction.
- Monitor Member preferences and special requests to create personalized dining experiences.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, side work assignments, and daily operational needs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while ensuring compliance with Club standards.
- Assist the leadership team with service recovery and resolving Member concerns in a professional and timely manner.
Member Experience
- Build genuine relationships with Members and guests by delivering attentive, personalized hospitality.
- Anticipate Member needs and proactively seek opportunities to enhance the dining experience.
- Ensure Members feel welcomed and valued through consistent engagement and attention to detail.
- Support the execution of holiday events, family programming, wine dinners, themed events, and other special Member experiences.
- Promote a positive dining atmosphere that reflects the unique hospitality culture of Kiawah Island Club.
Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with the Food & Beverage leadership team, Culinary Team, and other Club departments to ensure seamless Member experiences.
- Communicate effectively with leadership regarding daily operations, staffing needs, and Member feedback.
- Support team initiatives that enhance service standards, efficiency, and employee engagement.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years of food and beverage experience in a private club, luxury resort, upscale restaurant, or hospitality environment.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to support and lead service teams in a fast-paced dining environment.
- Strong knowledge of food, beverage, wine, and elevated casual dining operations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Experience with point-of-sale and reservation management systems preferred.
- Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Private club or luxury hospitality experience preferred.
- Knowledge of coastal cuisine, craft cocktails, and outdoor dining operations.
- Experience supporting high-volume seasonal business and special events.
- ServSafe and alcohol service certifications preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
