Description

Position:                             Food Expeditor (Expo)  
Reports to:                         General Manager  
 
The Food Expeditor (Expo) is a vital member of the back-of-house team, ensuring the seamless flow of food from the kitchen to the dining area. The Expo is responsible for coordinating and organizing food orders, ensuring that dishes are prepared correctly and in a timely manner, and maintaining effective communication between the kitchen and the serving staff to deliver a high-quality dining experience to our guests. 
 
Key Performance Elements/Essential Functions  
 
  • Order Coordination: Manage and expedite the flow of orders from the kitchen to the dining room, ensuring that dishes are prepared according to the order tickets and delivered promptly. 
  • Quality Control: Inspect each plate to ensure it meets restaurant standards for presentation, temperature, and accuracy before serving it to guests. 
  • Communication: Maintain clear and efficient communication between the kitchen staff and servers to ensure smooth operation during service hours. 
  • Problem Solving: Address any issues or discrepancies with orders quickly and effectively, coordinating with the kitchen and serving staff to find solutions. 
  • Organization: Keep the expo station organized and stocked with necessary supplies, including garnishes, sauces, and utensils. 
  • Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the expo area, adhering to health and safety regulations. 
  • Support Team: Assist with other front-of-house or back-of-house tasks as needed, including setting up and breaking down service areas. 
Minimum Requirements  
  • Exude a high level of hospitality to our guests – smile and have a great time!  
  • Previous experience in a bar or restaurant setting is preferred.  
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.  
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.  
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  
  • Physical stamina to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) and stand for extended periods.  
  • Basic knowledge of restaurant terminology is a plus.
