Are you the technician everyone calls when the line won’t start?

If you thrive in fast-paced food production and love solving the problems others can’t, this role is for you. In our bakery warehouse, you’ll keep mission-critical equipment humming, push preventative maintenance forward, and ensure every repair supports food safety and uptime.

What you’ll do

  • Keep bakery assets in top shape—mixers, ovens, proofers, conveyors, slicers, and automated packaging systems.
  • Diagnose complex breakdowns across mechanical, electrical (including PLCs), pneumatic, and hydraulic domains.
  • Lead preventative maintenance across the facility to reduce unplanned stops and extend asset life.
  • Service and troubleshoot building systems: HVAC, plumbing, and electrical infrastructure.
  • Respond quickly to failures and follow through with durable corrective solutions.
  • Support installs, commissioning, and calibration of new equipment and lines.
  • Use a CMMS to document work orders, parts consumption, and maintenance history accurately.
  • Work to OSHA, GMP, HACCP, and sanitation standards at all times.
  • Collaborate with production leadership to lift reliability and efficiency KPIs.
  • Mentor junior techs and share practical know-how.
  • Engage approved vendors and contractors for specialized work.

What you bring

  • High school diploma or GED (technical/vocational certification strongly preferred).
  • 5–7 years of maintenance experience in bakery, food manufacturing, or industrial production.
  • Background with bakery equipment and automated lines preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical (PLCs), pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Hands-on CMMS experience.
  • Working knowledge of GMP and HACCP.

Core strengths

  • Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Analytical problem-solver; calm under pressure.
  • Independent operator who can also lead initiatives.
  • Clear communicator and dependable teammate.
  • Detail-focused with strong safety mindset.
  • Effective at juggling priorities in a high-speed environment.

Physical demands

  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods.
  • Comfort working near heat (ovens), noise, and active production equipment.

Proficiencies

  • Electrical Troubleshooting
  • Boiler Troubleshooting
  • Maintenance and Repair Skills
  • Industrial Electrical Experience
  • Mechanical Systems & Component Repair

Tools & tech

  • Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)
  • Conveyor Systems

Imagine this

A proofer trips mid-run. You isolate the issue to a pneumatic regulator, replace it, verify PLC inputs, and bring the line back up—then log the job, add a PM task, and brief production on a parameter change that will prevent recurrence. If that’s your style, we want to talk.
