Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Sanitation Technician to help maintain a clean, safe, and compliant food production environment. This role is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing processing equipment, production areas, and workspaces while following all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Clean and sanitize food processing equipment, production areas, and workstations according to established sanitation schedules and procedures.
Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), and regulatory requirements, including OSHA, SQF, and FDA standards.
Safely handle, mix, and prepare cleaning chemicals and sanitizers while following label instructions and Safety Data Sheets (SDS/MSDS).
Accurately complete sanitation logs, cleaning checklists, and chemical usage documentation.
Remove debris, waste, and garbage from production areas to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
Report sanitation concerns, equipment issues, or compliance violations to supervisors and assist with corrective actions when needed.
Work collaboratively with production and quality teams to support food safety and operational efficiency.
Operate sanitation equipment, including pressure washers, foam cannons, hoses, and sprayers.
Follow all company safety procedures when handling chemicals, equipment, and cleaning tools.
Work Environment:
Wet and humid working conditions.
Exposure to both warm and cold production areas.
Fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Frequent bending, twisting, and kneeling.
Frequent work with arms extended above shoulder level.
Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Frequent gripping and squeezing of pressure washer, hose, and sprayer controls.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
Experience:
Previous sanitation, food safety, manufacturing, or food service experience preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices.
Ability to safely operate sanitation and cleaning equipment.
Strong attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping skills.
Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive manual labor.
Ability to work comfortably in cold, warm, humid, and wet environments.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
