Sodexo’s Campus Segment is seeking a highly impactful Food Operations Manager 2 to support Alfred University located in Alfred, NY. As a key leader within our Universities segment, you will play a critical role in shaping a best-in-class campus dining experience that reflects the university’s academic excellence and commitment to student well-being.

 

The Food Operations Manager is a dynamic, creative, and strategic leader responsible for elevating food quality, student experience, and operational excellence across a high-volume dining environment. This role blends culinary innovation, hospitality-forward thinking, team development, and strong business acumen to build an engaging and seamless dining program that serves as a cornerstone of campus life.

What You'll Do:
  • Oversee day-to-day dining operations across residential, retail, and/or catering services.
  • Ensure exceptional food quality, presentation, and service that aligns with Sodexo and campus standards.
  • Lead, train, and develop frontline teams to deliver consistent, high-quality service.
  • Support menu execution, production planning, and operational flow.
  • Monitor labor, food cost, safety, and compliance metrics to achieve operational targets.
  • Partner with campus clients to strengthen relationships, enhance satisfaction, and support campus events.
  • Drive student engagement initiatives, including feedback programs and dining experience improvements.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and performance management of hourly staff.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
