Position Summary The Food Packager is responsible for packaging, labeling, inspecting, and preparing food products for shipment in a refrigerated warehouse environment maintained between 25°F and 40°F. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to food safety standards, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Package food products according to company specifications and customer requirements.
Label, seal, weigh, and prepare products for shipping and distribution.
Inspect products for quality, accuracy, and proper packaging.
Assemble boxes, cartons, and packaging materials as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized work area while following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and quality control procedures.
Operate basic packaging equipment and hand tools safely.
Monitor product quality and report damaged or defective products to supervisors.
Assist with stocking, staging, and organizing inventory.
Meet daily production goals while maintaining accuracy and quality.
Comply with all company safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
Previous food production, packaging, warehouse, or manufacturing experience is preferred.
Ability to read labels, follow written and verbal instructions, and complete basic documentation.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Dependable with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work in a cold storage environment (25°F–40°F) for the duration of the shift.
Stand and walk for extended periods.
Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements.
Bend, stoop, twist, reach, and squat throughout the shift.
Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
