Job Description

Position Summary
The Food Packager is responsible for packaging, labeling, inspecting, and preparing food products for shipment in a refrigerated warehouse environment maintained between 25°F and 40°F. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to food safety standards, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Package food products according to company specifications and customer requirements.
  • Label, seal, weigh, and prepare products for shipping and distribution.
  • Inspect products for quality, accuracy, and proper packaging.
  • Assemble boxes, cartons, and packaging materials as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and quality control procedures.
  • Operate basic packaging equipment and hand tools safely.
  • Monitor product quality and report damaged or defective products to supervisors.
  • Assist with stocking, staging, and organizing inventory.
  • Meet daily production goals while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • Comply with all company safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
  • Previous food production, packaging, warehouse, or manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Ability to read labels, follow written and verbal instructions, and complete basic documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Dependable with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a cold storage environment (25°F–40°F) for the duration of the shift.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements.
  • Bend, stoop, twist, reach, and squat throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
