This is a CONTINUOUS recruitment for an applicant POOL to fill Part-Time assignments on an as-needed basis. Departments or Divisions will refer to the POOL of applications on file to fill temporary assignments as the need arises. Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

The purpose of this position is to acquire qualified Food Pantry Assistants to help the Office of Student Engagement and Retention meet its' goal of serving students that are food insecure by providing free food. A successful Food Pantry Assistant must be a self-motivated learner, efficient problem solver, and have the ability to provide care and supportive services to all students.

This position reports to the Assistant Dean of Student Engagement and Retention.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalency.

Six (6) months office/clerical related experience.

Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Have care and appreciation for individual uniqueness and diversity.

Exceptional customer service skills.

Proficient in Mircrosoft Office to include, Outlook, Work, Excel and Power Point.

Ability to organize activities and coordinate groups of people.

Ability to relate to divers student populations.

Ability to communicate effectively (reading, writing, listening, speaking).

Ability to work independently and follow-through on assigned tasks.

Ability to problem-solve, make decisions and manage conflict.

Ability to use a PC in an office setting.

Preferred Qualifications

Associates degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education or related social science field.

One year of clerical experience and working with diverse groups.

Know and execute all food handling procedures.

General Management and duties of the Food Pantry which include ordering food, organizing delivery, and restocking and organizing the shelves.

Provide a clean, safe, and efficient operation of the Food Pantry.

Responsible for implementing and maintaining food pantry policies and procedures.

Job Duty

Management of documents and paperwork, including food inventory, student sign-in log sheets, and food pantry application.

Job Duty

Preparing and submitting daily/weekly reports for guests and supplies necessary for operations.

Job Duty

Keeping accurate records of the amount of food coming in and out each month.

Job Duty

Answering questions from customers about campus directions, activities, college services/offices and general college knowledge.

Job Duty

Providing training to volunteers, ensuring safely, efficiency and effective communications at all times.

Job Duty

Providing timely communication to coworkers, supervisors, and clients.

Job Duty

Coordinates and oversees all outreach events for the Food Pantry Program.

Job Duty

Additional projects assigned by the supervisor.
