FOOD PANTRY SPECIALIST

LOCATION: Denton, TX | Onsite

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE

• $16.87 per hour
• Monday–Friday | 7:30 AM–4:00 PM

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate and distribute food and essential commodities to individuals and families in need
• Conduct client intake assessments, determine eligibility for food pantry assistance, verify required documentation, and complete recertifications for existing clients
• Explain program guidelines, assist clients through the application process, and connect individuals with community agencies and additional support resources
• Maintain daily food pantry inventory, restock shelves, coordinate with warehouse staff, and ensure food supplies are available for distribution
• Monitor food expiration dates, remove damaged or expired products, and help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming pantry environment

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to assist individuals and families from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to maintain accurate client records, follow program guidelines, and handle confidential information professionally.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage daily pantry operations while providing compassionate client support.

CORE TOOLS & SYSTEMS

• Client intake, eligibility screening, and recertification documentation
• Food pantry inventory and distribution tracking
• Basic computer applications and data entry systems
• Community resource and agency referral coordination

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Previous experience in food pantry operations, nonprofit organizations, social services, community outreach, or client assistance programs
• Experience conducting client interviews, eligibility assessments, or coordinating community resources
