Job Title: Food Quality Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Food Quality Technician to ensure the safety and quality of all products manufactured on our continuous cooking equipment. This role involves conducting in-process analytical testing, performing organoleptic and visual inspections, and auditing cook stations and packaging lines to ensure compliance with HACCP food safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-process analytical testing on all products, including assessments of % soluble solids, viscosity, and color.
  • Perform organoleptic and visual inspections on all manufactured products.
  • Audit cook stations and packaging lines for compliance with HACCP food safety protocols, including checks on weights, seals, temperatures, coding, and GMPs.
  • Ensure daily food safety and quality of products produced or packaged.
  • Verify that all printed labels and packaging films meet approved standards provided by Marketing.
  • Perform annual raw material validations against supplier Certificates of Analysis (COAs).
  • Verify incoming raw materials against Bills of Lading (BOLs) and confirm accuracy of COAs.
  • Initiate and document corrective actions by reporting food safety or quality issues to the supervisor or designee.
  • Perform environmental swabbing of equipment as required.
  • Provide coverage on the production floor and/or in the QA lab as needed.
  • Maintain professional communication across all levels of production and management.
  • Accurately and thoroughly complete all required daily documentation.

Essential Skills

  • 1-3 years of experience in a Quality Assurance role, preferably with experience in food plant processes.
  • Proficiency in quality assurance procedures, GMP, and food quality standards.
  • Experience in batch record review.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associates degree in the sciences with 1-2 years of experience in an industry or academic setting.
  • Bachelor"s degree with 1 year of experience in an industry or academic setting.

Work Environment

This position operates on the 2nd Shift, from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM, Monday through Friday, with rotating Saturdays as needed.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brockton, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
