General Purpose:
Assists servers in providing efficient service by delivering orders from the kitchen to guests and keeping BOH areas clean, organized and stocked. Creates memorable dining experiences through personalized and genuine interactions.
Essential Duties:
\u25cf Assures that all material used by server and expeditor is clean and ready for daily operation.
\u25cf Possesses knowledge of the position of each diner's chair in the dining rooms and lounges.
\u25cf Sets the outside line with under liner plates, flatware, doilies, linen napkins and any other items needed for the delivering of food.
\u25cf Organizes the plates in the window and matches each one with each ticket to run the food out to the tables.
\u25cf Sets tables in accordance with facility standards.
\u25cf Answer guests' questions about ingredients and menu items.
\u25cf Inform restaurant staff about customers' feedback or requests (e.g. when they ask for the check)
\u25cf Ensures that each menu item is prepared in the exact detail outlined on each ticket.
\u25cf Delivers food orders from the kitchen to customers' tables rapidly and accurately
\u25cf Corrects the menu item with the chef or expeditor before delivering the menu item to meet the exact specification on the ticket. Removes any place settings not being used.
\u25cf Clears dishes located in front of guest upon completion of course.
\u25cf Keeps work stations well stocked of items and ingredients.
\u25cf Cleans workstations, takes out trash, and vacuums the dining room.
\u25cf Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
\u25cf Regular and reliable attendance.
\u25cf Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Requirements:
High school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Requirements:
Previous experience as a Food Runner or similar entry-level role in a restaurant.
Physical Demands:
Frequently stands, walks, talks and hears. Frequently uses hands. Regularly reaches with arms and hands. Occasionally climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches, tastes or smells. Frequently lifts up to 10 pounds and regularly lifts up to 50 pounds. Regularly carries trays above the head with plates of food out to tables in the dining room and lounge area. Occasionally works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather); may come into contact with fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level is moderate.
Certificates/Licenses:
\u25cf ServSafe Certified (Food Handler & Alcohol) or TIPS equivalent.
