The Food Runner plays a vital role in ensuring guests receive their meals quickly, accurately, and with exceptional service. This position serves as the link between the kitchen and dining room by delivering food, assisting guests and servers, maintaining cleanliness, and helping create a positive dining experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver food to guests accurately and in a timely manner.
- Verify food quality, presentation, and accuracy before leaving the kitchen.
- Communicate any food issues, modifications, or concerns to the kitchen and management team.
- Maintain knowledge of all menu items, daily specials, and food presentations.
- Assist servers by refilling beverages, delivering sauces and condiments, and responding to guest requests.
- Help greet and seat guests when needed.
- Bus and reset tables to maintain a clean and organized dining room.
- Monitor dining room cleanliness, including floors, service stations, and restrooms.
- Restock supplies, fill ice bins, and complete assigned side work.
- Maintain a sense of urgency during busy periods while providing friendly and professional service.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations.
Qualifications
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry trays, food baskets, and supplies weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Previous restaurant experience is preferred but not required.
- Must meet all state and company requirements for alcohol service certification when applicable.
Physical Requirements
- Standing and walking throughout the shift.
- Frequent bending, lifting, reaching, and carrying trays.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
