We are seeking a professional, energetic, and hospitality-driven Food Runner to join our front-of-house team. This role is essential to the flow of service and plays a key part in ensuring each dish is delivered accurately, promptly, and beautifully.

Position Summary

The Food Runner supports the service team by delivering food from the kitchen to guests in a timely and accurate manner while maintaining the upscale standards of Tabor Hill. This position requires strong communication, urgency, attention to detail, and the ability to work calmly and efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

The ideal candidate takes pride in presentation, enjoys being part of a team, and understands that every interaction with a guest contributes to the overall dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver food from the kitchen to the correct tables and guests with accuracy, professionalism, and a sense of urgency.
  • Ensure all plates are presented according to restaurant standards before leaving the kitchen.
  • Communicate clearly with servers, bartenders, chefs, hosts, managers, and other team members to maintain smooth service.
  • Confirm table numbers, seat positions, special requests, allergies, and modifications before delivering food.
  • Provide brief, polished descriptions of dishes when appropriate.
  • Assist with clearing, resetting, polishing, and maintaining dining room readiness as needed.
  • Support servers by refilling water, replacing silverware, removing finished plates, and responding to guest needs when appropriate.
  • Maintain awareness of dining room flow, guest cues, and service timing.
  • Help keep service stations, expo areas, and guest-facing spaces clean, organized, and fully stocked.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and company service standards.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Assist with special events, private dining, banquets, and high-volume service periods as needed.

Qualifications

  • Previous restaurant, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience in upscale, fine dining, winery, resort, or high-volume restaurant environments is a plus.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak hospitality periods.
  • Strong communication skills and a team-focused attitude.
  • Ability to remain calm, polished, and professional under pressure.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry trays or plates throughout scheduled shifts.
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and willing to support the team wherever needed.

Work Environment

Schedule

  • Full-time and part-time opportunities may be available.
  • Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required.
  • Scheduling may vary based on restaurant volume, seasonality, private events, and business needs.
