$18 – $24 per hour | Shifts: 6:00am–2:00pm or 7:00am–3:00pm

This Philadelphia facility runs 24/7 and holds itself to strict customer, FDA, and USDA food safety standards. It's a fast-paced, team-driven kitchen where quality is the priority.
The Role
As the Food Safety QA Coordinator, you'll keep the facility's quality and food safety program running every day. You'll make sure production meets customer specifications, FDA and USDA regulations, and HACCP plans. You'll work closely with the Quality Manager, train hourly team members, and provide quality oversight for satellite commissary locations.
What You'll Do
Monitor Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and verify cooler and freezer temperatures daily
Complete pre-operational and quality checks before production begins
Perform environmental swabs and microbiological sampling for lab analysis
Inspect workstations, dispatch, galley, and equipment for compliance with specs, sanitation, food temperatures, and HACCP documentation
Conduct portion control and spec compliance checks, including chef table samples
Verify daily HACCP logs and food safety records for accuracy
Build charts, trending reports, SOPs, and training materials
Train hourly employees on food safety, sanitation, and USDA Regulated Garbage Standards
Support the Quality Manager with training and process improvement initiatives
Provide quality oversight for commissary locations
What You Bring
High school diploma or equivalent
Food industry knowledge and strong reading skills
Comfort with computers and tablets, plus basic Microsoft software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Experience using, or ability to learn, calculators, scales, thermometers, metal detectors, ATP testing equipment, and food portioning and processing equipment
Strong math, analytical, communication, and organizational skills
Self-starter who works well with minimal supervision
Ability to stand and walk for 6–7 hours in a fast-paced environment with large teams
Ability to work in cold environments (under 40°F) and lift/push 25+ lbs
Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
Nice to Have
Previous food industry or quality assurance experience
HACCP, PCQI, or USDA experience (any one of these stands out)
Background in food manufacturing, USDA-inspected plants, commissaries, central kitchens, institutional food service, or airline/airport food operations
Kitchen leads or sous chefs with food safety responsibility who want to move into QA are encouraged to apply
