This is a floor-driven leadership role responsible for ensuring full compliance with FSSC 22000, FDA, GFSI standards, and customer requirements, while partnering closely with operations, R&D, procurement, and plant leadership.

What Will Make Someone Successful Here
  • Leads from the floor, not the office
  • Thrives in audit-heavy, regulated environments
  • Can tighten systems while keeping production moving
  • Is respected by operations because they solve problems—not just enforce rules

What This Role Owns
Full ownership of the Food Safety Management System (FSSC 22000)
Leadership of HACCP and Food Safety Teams, including recall readiness
Management and execution of all internal, customer, regulatory, and certification audits
Continuous improvement of quality systems, SOPs, and compliance programs
Oversight of testing programs and data-driven quality improvements
Supplier and customer quality collaboration across procurement, R&D, and sales
Control of nonconforming, obsolete, and expiring materials
Batch record and production documentation review for compliance
Maintenance of certifications (Organic, Non-GMO, Gluten-Free, Kosher, Plant-Based, etc.)
Management of regulatory registrations (FDA, GFSI, state agencies)

What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Quality, or related field
5–10 years in food manufacturing quality leadership
Strong experience with GFSI systems (FSSC 22000 preferred), FDA compliance, and audits
Proven success leading plant-level quality or food safety programs
Hands-on experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions
Strong leadership presence on the production floor
Ability to influence cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment
Spanish bilingual a plus (not required)

Certifications required or obtainable quickly:
PCQI
HACCP
Internal Auditor

Work Environment
Fully onsite, production floor presence required daily
1st shift (~6:30 AM – 3:30 PM, flexible)
Manufacturing environment with PPE requirements, noise, temperature variation, and occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs)
Occasional weekends/overtime based on production or audit needs
