    Description

    Job Summary

    Promote, protect, and maintain public health and safety through food safety inspections, environmental sanitation assessments, education, and enforcement activities. Conduct independent inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with food safety, environmental health, and sanitation regulations. Identify, mitigate, and prevent health risks associated with improperly prepared food, contaminated water, and unsafe consumer products. Apply environmental health principles and sanitation sciences to evaluate conditions, interpret regulations, recommend corrective actions, and support disease prevention efforts. Work independently within an assigned geographic or specialty area while maintaining compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and public health standards.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in a physical or biological science from an accredited college or university.
    • Minimum 1.5 years of professional inspectional or investigational experience in public health, environmental health, or a related regulatory field.
    • Knowledge of environmental health programs, sanitation sciences, bacteriology, chemistry, physics, vector control methods, and social sciences.
    • Ability to interpret, apply, and enforce public health laws, regulations, and sanitation standards.
    • Strong analytical, investigative, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Valid driver's license required.
