Kitchen Operations and Management Assist Food Service Specialist with food purchasing using Food Buying Guide. Assist with breakfast, lunch and snack preparation for children, parents and staff. Implement special diets Maintain clean and sanitary kitchen facilities, cookware, dishes and eating utensils on a daily basis. Maintain safe and sanitary storage of food. Prepare food for parent meetings and policy council. Assist with recordkeeping as required. Maintain orderly storage and kitchen environment. Assist with meal set up and clean up. Adhere to sanitation and safety procedures. Eat with children in the classroom
Meal Delivery and Transportation Comply with all program transportation policies and procedures. Assist with loading and unloading of prepared foods to and from food service van utilizing proper lifting and ergonomic techniques. Maintain clean van and up to date transportation documentation. Transport carriers and pans back to kitchen. Ensure safe and timely delivery of meals Assist with meal set up and clean up Comply with all program transportation policies and procedures. Assist with unloading of prepared foods from food service van. Adhere to sanitation and safety procedures. Eat with children in the classroom Provide feedback to Food Service Specialist on food quality, food quantity, and student/teacher acceptance.
Dishwashing and Clean up Wash breakfast, lunch and snack dishes using approved sanitation methods. Return all items to proper storage site. Maintain clean and sanitary kitchen facilities, cookware, carts and carriers, dishes and eating utensils on a daily basis. Maintain safe and sanitary storage of food. Maintain orderly storage and kitchen environment. Following established procedures and PPE (if applicable), perform periodic cleaning tasks as assigned for proper maintenance and cleaning of kitchen equipment. Other center cleaning duties as assigned by supervisor.
Utilize Information Systems to support family/agency outcomes. Complete USDA tracking as needed in an accurate and timely manner. Maintain all records in a confidential manner in accordance with the program confidentiality policy.
Additional Job Responsibilities Attend and participate in program meetings as requested by supervisor Complete all areas of responsibility in compliance with program code of conduct and confidentiality policies. Be a contributory team member in a positive/productive manner. Demonstrate commitment to mission, values and policies in the performance of daily duties.
