Position Summary
To assist in various capacities in the Volunteers of America Utah, Detoxification Services food preparation and service operations.
Essential Duties
In coordination with the Food Service Manager and Food Service Coordinator:
Maintain and clean work area and follow food safety procedures. Tasks include, but are not limited to:
Wash dishes, pots and pans
Stack dishes, cups, and silverware
Remove trash
Sweep and mop the floor
Perform deep cleaning as scheduled and as necessary.
Set up and maintain food items
Check and record food temperatures at required intervals
Maintain cleanliness and follow proper food safety protocol and procedures
Know how to safely operate and properly clean machines/appliances in kitchen. At the completion of each task, working area should be cleaned and all food and equipment should be brought to their respective areas.
Serve food in a friendly and helpful manner.
Assist with training/supervising client helpers.
Attend work on a regular and predictable basis.
Perform other functions as necessary or assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications
Must possess a high school diploma or GED and Food Handlers permit. Must have some experience in food service work, or any combination of education, experience, and training which provides the following knowledge, skills and abilities, including but not limited to:
