Title: Food Service Associate
Pay: $17.50 $18.00/hour
Hours: Primarily weekends | Shifts vary | Typically 11:00 AM 8:00 PM

Overview
Join the IKEA Food team as a Food Service Associate, helping deliver a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable dining experience for customers. This role includes food preparation, serving customers, maintaining cleanliness, stocking inventory, and supporting food safety standards throughout the department.
Job Description
  • Prepare and serve IKEA food items according to recipes and food safety standards.
  • Provide friendly customer service and answer questions about menu items and allergens.
  • Process customer purchases accurately using the register.
  • Maintain clean dining areas, beverage stations, condiment stations, and dish room.
  • Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and trays.
  • Stock, rotate, and replenish food and supplies using First In, First Out (FIFO) procedures.
  • Maintain the Swedish Food Market through stocking, merchandising, pricing, and sanitation.
  • Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance of food service equipment.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Complete a required 90-minute Food Safety Training on your first day.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
  • Active Food Handler Certification (must be presented on the first day of work).
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous food service or high-volume customer service experience preferred.
  • Retail or merchandising experience is a plus.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Flexible schedule with weekend availability.
