Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) is seeking a Food Service Associate to join our Nutrition and Food Services team. Whether youre preparing food, serving patients and customers, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen, or supporting Food Service operations, youll play an important role in creating a welcoming environment and supporting the health and well-being of our community. No prior food service experience is requiredwere looking for individuals with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a commitment to excellent customer service. About This Role As a Food Service Associate, you will perform a variety of food preparation, patient meal delivery, dishwashing, and other Food Service duties while helping ensure a safe, clean, and efficient food service operation. Youll work closely with teammates to provide excellent service to patients, visitors, and staff while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and sanitation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in providing great customer service, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Support daily Food Service operations by delivering meals to patients, restocking food items, washing dishes, operating the cash register, completing assigned tasks, and providing excellent customer service. Assist with food preparation, tray service, and other kitchen responsibilities while maintaining quality and efficiency standards. Follow food safety and sanitation standards, including proper food handling, labeling, cleaning, dishwashing, and waste disposal procedures. Collaborate with team members to support department goals, maintain a clean and organized work environment, and contribute to a positive dining experience for customers. Required Qualifications Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to follow directions, manage multiple tasks, and work efficiently. Preferred Qualifications Previous food service experience preferred, but not required. ServSafe certification preferred, or the ability to obtain certification within six months of hire.
