UPMC Cole is seeking a Casual Food Service Attendant to help provide excellent dining experiences for our patients, visitors, and staff. If you enjoy working with people, preparing food, and delivering outstanding customer service, we'd love to hear from you!

Schedule

• Shifts will be scheduled between 10:00am and 2:00pm Monday - Friday.
• Includes some holidays, no weekends.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and assemble meals according to menus, diet orders, and customer needs.
• Serve patients, guests, and residents in a friendly and professional manner.
• Maintain food quality, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Set up serving areas and ensure supplies and equipment are ready for meal service.
• Stock food and supplies as needed.
• Assist with dining room duties, including bussing and sanitizing tables.
• Deliver meals and provide excellent customer service.
• Follow infection prevention, hand hygiene, and food safety procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Adheres to hand hygiene and infection control procedures on a consistent basis when interacting with customers.
• Adheres to department procedures regarding the operation of all food service equipment.
• Communicates customer complaints and concerns effectively with other health care team members.
• Performs sanitation for assigned work area in accordance with departmental procedures and health department guidelines.
• Serves patient meal tray using the designated department script, to include proper patient identification.
• Distributes and collects menus from patients; obtains selected menus from patients according to departmental procedures.
• Displays customer service skills when responding to meal service requests, resulting in a satisfied customer.
• Serves meals within established timeframes, adhering to departmental standards for appearance, food quality, and temperature control.
• Work permit required if under 18 years old.
• Cooking experience preferred.
