\t\t\t\t\tThe Food Service Clerk performs all job assignments with a positive attitude that supports San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance\s mission and vision of saving species worldwide by uniting our expertise in wildlife care and conservation science with our dedication to inspiring passion for nature and leading the fight against extinction. The Food Service Clerk under supervision, prepares, serves and sells food items while providing outstanding guest service. This position reports to the Retail Management.

\t\t\t\t\tA Food Service Clerk is assigned and responsible for one or more areas of food preparation, service, sales and maintenance.

\t\t\t\t\t

\t\t\t\t\tWHAT YOU WILL DO

Prepares and sells food items

\t\t\t\t\t\t

Maintains a safe and sanitary work area, practices safe food handling procedures

\t\t\t\t\t\t

\t\t\t\t\t\t * \t\t\t\t\t\t

Operates point of sale system, handles and tenders a variety of sales transactions including cash, proactive to suggestive selling

\t\t\t\t\t\t

\t\t\t\t\t\t * \t\t\t\t\t\t

Provides outstanding guest service, greets guests, professionally handles difficult situations with employees or guests

\t\t\t\t\t\t

\t\t\t\t\t\t * \t\t\t\t\t\t

Assists with the daily set-up, closure, and cleaning of assigned location, stocks all necessary food items and supplies, assists with ordering

\t\t\t\t\t\t

\t\t\t\t\t\t * \t\t\t\t\t\t

Operates food service equipment and machines safely

\t\t\t\t\t\t

\t\t\t\t\t\t * \t\t\t\t\t\t

Ability to learn wide variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment
