Food Service Coordinator-Wilmington, NC

POSITION SUMMARYThis position is responsible for the management and execution of all kitchen and food service operations for The Healing Place of New Hanover County. This position is also responsible for the overall cleanliness of the facility, maintaining a ready supply of cleaning products, and managing donations to the facility. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:Oversee all day-to-day kitchen and food service operationsPlan daily menus and maintain basic understanding and adherence to basic nutritional guidelinesCoordinate the preparation meals for clients, visitors and staffPerform daily kitchen walk-through with food service associates to review food service plan for the following day including locating food to be prepared, reviewing recipes and preparation stepsInspect and maintain kitchen equipment to ensure proper function including temperature logsOrganize and maintain all food storage areas including dry storage, freezers and refrigeratorsManage and maintain a working inventory of food, food services supplies, cleaning supplies and equipmentDevelop, manage, and perform a regular cleaning schedule for each area of the facilityTrain and manage program clients to perform housekeeping duties, including the creation and management of housekeeping guidelinesProvide consistent training and education to program clients about safe food practices and the safe use of kitchen equipmentOrganize and manage food, clothing, and hygene donations from community partnersAssist in the coordination and execution of special events on and off-siteEnsure that all kitchen and food service operations adhere to local Department of Health regulationsAcquire and maintain ServeSafe Manager Certification (within 30 days of onboarding)Ensure proper sanitation standards and procedures are being followed throughout the entire facilityEnsure that kitchen, food service operations, facility, furniture, and equipment meet all safety standards SKILLS Excellent written/oral/interpersonal communication skillsPrecise attention to detailAbility to maintain confidentiality of information, people and processesComfortable communicating with individuals with a diversity of backgrounds, income levels, and influenceOrganized with strong time management skills QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTSHigh School Diploma or Equivalency requiredSome experience working food service industry preferred Working knowledge in Microsoft Office (especially Outlook, Excel and Word)Must be able to spend extended periods of time on your feet (walking, standing)Ability to project a professional image Must be able to lift 50lbs. on occasionValid Driver's License requiredServSafe Food Certification
