Food Service Kitchen Helper

The Bruce School District is seeking a reliable, energetic Part-Time Kitchen Helper to join our nutrition services team. This role supports the daily meal service for our students, ensuring a clean, safe, and friendly cafeteria environment. Position works approximatley 2.5 hours per day on average.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with basic food preparation, portioning, and setup for daily breakfasts and lunches.

• Operate dishwashers, clean cookware, and sanitize kitchen work surfaces and dining tables.

• Assist with receiving, stocking, and organizing pantry and cooler inventory.

• Other duties as assigned by the Head Cook / Kitchen Manager.

• Follow all district, state, and local food safety and sanitation guidelines.

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

• Prior food service experience is helpful, but on-the-job training is provided.

• Ability to stand for extended periods, move quickly, and lift up to 35 lbs.

• Strong work ethic, teamwork skills, and a welcoming presence around school-aged children.

• Successful completion of a standard criminal background check.
