Food Service Position Lunch Aide

Job Description:

Lunch Aide needed for the 2026-2027 school year at East Shore Middle School.

Hours are approximately 11:00 - 1:00, Monday through Friday, and work days follow the school calendar year.

The hourly wage for these positions is $17.91 per hour. There are no benefits associated with these positions.

POSITION TITLE: LUNCH AIDE

PAY GRADE: Hourly

UNION: Non-Union

SUMMARY/GOAL OF POSITION:

Under general supervision, provides monitoring of children during lunch waves.

ESSENTIAL TASKS OF THE POSITION: (Illustrative, not inclusive)

• Monitors children while they eat lunch
• Provides assistance to students during lunch
• Cleans tables
• Makes lunch room ready for next lunch wave

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to stand for at least one and one half an hour per day
• Ability to communicate with children
• Ability to withstand noise levels from moderate to loud

QUALIFICATIONS:

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

High School graduation or other equivalent (i.e., GED, college, technical or trade school transcript, foreign equivalency, etc.).

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

None.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous Lunch Aide or Cafeteria experience.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Background check required
• Screening for Tuberculosis (TB) required.
