Food Service Specialist II

JOB SUMMARY:

Assists the Food Service Manager in preparation of food in the kitchen at Camp Long. Helps train and instruct food service specialist I. Performs routine duties in the kitchen environment.

 

 

JOB DUTIES:

10% - Leads:
Teaches and demonstrates correct techniques of food preparation to new employees for maximum palatability and appearance and minimum waste. Directs food service I to jobs that need to be done, prepping food, dishes, etc. Manages the cleanliness of the food service equipment, kitchen, and dining facility. Helps kitchen manager maintain inspections. 10% - Storage:

Maintains food storage within DHEC guidelines. Helps create a list of items for ordering based on menu from kitchen manager. All other duties as assigned by the kitchen manager. 40% - Clean:

Prepares dishes to run through commercial grade dishwasher. Hand washes pots and pans. Cleans and stores kitchen equipment after use. Helps maintain the food service equipment, kitchen and dining facility. 40% - Cook:

Prepares food as instructed and within DHEC standards. Weighs, blends and mixes ingredients according to directions. Cuts, slices, chops food. Serves food to campers, students or groups.

Minimum Requirements:

A high school diploma and experience in quantity and quality cooking or in a bakery.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Not responsible for supervising employees.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION:

Expected Salary Range

$13.22 - $14.22

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

 

 

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL:

Normal Operations - Required to follow emergency facility closure and modified operations directives, and not normally expected to work on-site during emergency situations.
