Food Service Specialist Part Time

Summary of Duties:

Prepares and provides nutritious meals for residents while maintaining a safe, clean, and supportive dining environment. Supports the overall well-being of youth by contributing to a structured and healthy daily routine.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations; familiarity with federal child nutrition programs preferred or willingness to learn.

• Experience in food service, preferably in a group or institutional setting.

• Ability to maintain records, follow menus, and manage inventory.

• Ability to adapt to the needs of a youth care environment.

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform physical kitchen tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve meals that meet nutritional standards and support the health and well-being of residents.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen and dining environment in accordance with health and safety guidelines.

• Plan and follow menus while managing food preparation, purchasing, and inventory of supplies.

• Maintain accurate records related to food service, supplies, and compliance requirements.

• Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards.

• Collaborate with staff to support resident needs and contribute to a positive, structured environment.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
