POSITION: Food Service SubREPORTS TO: Food Service DirectorSTARTING DATE: As soon as possibleSUMMARY: Performs a variety of tasks in the preparation and cooking of food; performs all related work as required; conforms to schedules established by the Food Service Director.NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS:* High school graduate or equivalent.* Pleasant, cheerful attitude toward co-workers, student and adult customers.* Ability to maintain Health Department regulations.* At least two years of experience as a Cook or comparable experience.* Ability to effectively lead and coordinate the work activities of all kitchen staff in assigned location.* Possession of the necessary physical capabilities to perform the duties of the position.* Maintains Food Safety Manager certificationRESPONSIBILITIES:* Reads and interprets menus and recipes.* Operates standard cooking equipment such as mixers, ranges, steamers, slicers….* Prepares and cooks food as directed.* Maintains equipment and facilities.* Manages line service and a la carte items that are assigned.* Maintains equipment and facilities.* Familiar with and follows all District, State and Federal food service rules and regulations* Attends training classes as scheduled.* Performs other duties as required.WAGES AND BENEFITS:* Starting probatoinary pay is $16.82 / hour* Training will be provided* Employees will be enrolled in the MI schools retirement systemC
