Together we a have a strong sense of community and common goal of supporting our students.Job Description Essential Elements Print FOOD SERVICE WORKERJob Description Under supervision to assist in the preparation of school lunches to serve lunches at a main or subsidiary cafeteria to perform routine cleaning tasks in a school cafeteria and to do related work as required.Qualifications1. Knowledge Knowledge of basic food serving utensils sanitation principles applicable to food serving and kitchen maintenance.2. Ability Ability to follow written and verbal directions read and write English perform assigned tasks without close supervision.3. Experience Six months of paid or unpaid experience in food preparation and kitchen maintenance.4. Education Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.5. Possess valid California drivers license.Typical Duties1. Assists in the kitchen by helping prepare fruits vegetables sandwiches and other foods.2. Sets up and serves hot food sandwiches beverages and other foodstuffs at serving times.3. Assists in cleaning and storing cafeteria utensils equipment and food supplies.4. Washes trays pots and pans and cleans and sweeps kitchen areas.5. Performs routine cooking duties under supervision of manager.6. May be required to make change and keep appropriate financial records.7.
