Overview

Join our team as a Food Service Supervisor at Benedict College. As a food service supervisor in our college dining facility, you''ll lead front-of-house operations, ensuring exceptional dining experiences for our campus. You''ll oversee and guide a team, manage daily tasks, handle customer inquiries, and drive staff performance. Your role includes training new staff and collaborating to enhance dining efficiency. Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate dining facility staff, assigning tasks and providing guidance for smooth operations and service quality.
  • Train and instruct staff on customer service, complaint resolution, and maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Manage daily operations, including scheduling, inventory, and waste reduction to optimize efficiency and control costs.
  • Conduct training for new and current employees on safety, service protocols, and job-specific tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and university policies for a safe dining environment.

Qualifications

  • Proven supervisory experience in food service, showcasing leadership, team management, and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to enhance the dining experience for staff and customers.
  • Proficiency in dining facility operations, including food prep, service standards, inventory management, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Aptitude for problem-solving, decision-making, and maintaining smooth operations.
  • Adaptability in managing staff and operations within a fast-paced dining environment, handling changing priorities and diverse situations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8-10 hours per day) while overseeing dining operations and facilities
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds (supplies, equipment, displays)
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, and perform repetitive motions as required during operational oversight
  • Manual dexterity to operate kitchen equipment, office tools, and technology
  • Ability to work in fast-paced food service environments, including kitchens, cafeterias, and event spaces, with exposure to heat, cold, humidity, and noise
  • Visual acuity to inspect food quality, review reports and financial documents, and operate computers and mobile devices
