Job Description

Title: Food Service Supervisor

Qualifications:

• Regular and predictable attendance
• Qualified to be employed as a Food Service Supervisor per Civil Service and NYS Education Department guidelines.
• Good knowledge of food service and related activities
• Ability to organize and supervise the work of others
• Ability to keeps simple records and make reports
• Ability to sit, stand, bend and kneel for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift and maneuver general kitchen equipment, materials and other objects as needed.

Responsibilities Shall include but are not limited to the following:

• Attend meetings as needed
• Follow directives (written, oral, electronic)
• General Food Service Supervisor assignments
• Supervises food service employees in the preparation and service of meals
• Confers with superior in portion control and menu cost
• Requisitions kitchen prepared food and other supplies from the stockroom
• Keeps records of meals served and other related data
• Performs cashier duties, receives cash for sales, and keeps accounting records
• Trains food service employees in cleaning, food preparation and other food service activities
• Assists in the preparation of menus, work schedules, and special diets
• Prepares and cooks a variety of foods
• Assists with inventory and ordering food supplies
• Maintains cleanliness in kitchen area
• Other assigned duties and/or responsibilities which may be deemed appropriate by the supervisors.
• Maintain Data Security as applicable.
• Maintain confidentiality with staff, students, and family information.
• Operate in a respectful, responsible manner

Reports to: Director of Food Services

Salary: Minimum starting salary $16.98 (negotiable based on experience) as per the Civil Service Employees Association agreement. Contracts can be found on the Victor Central School District website under the Human Resources tab.
