Overview:

The Food Service Worker supports Nutrition Services by preparing, serving, and delivering food while maintaining high standards of customer service. This role provides food preparation, patient tray review, delivery service, dish room operations, catering support, and ensuring compliance with all state and county health and safety regulations.

 

The Food Service Worker demonstrates excellent customer service in that his/her attitude and actions are always consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission, and Values of Covenant and the commitment to Extraordinary Care for Every Generation.

Responsibilities:

Essential Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve food according to approved recipes, nutritional requirements and portion standards.
  • Follow proper food handling and storage guidelines.
  • Provide courteous, professional service to patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Resolves customer concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of floors, equipment, dishes, and work surfaces.
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment.
  • Assist with inventory management and restocking,
  • Comply with all state, county, and departmental health and safety guidelines.
  • Assist with catering and tray deliver to patients as needed.
  • Participate in nutrition and dietary training sessions.
  • Other Duties as assigned.
  • Must be available and dependable for flexible scheduling of work hours, weekends and holidays.

 

Qualifications:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Pass Covenant dietary/nutrition competency test within 6 months of hire/transfer required.
  • Previous work experience in food service preferred.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
