Pay Starting at $15.82 and upFood Service WorkerPerforms a variety of food service tasks in the areas of meal assembly, meal delivery, dishwashing and metal ware.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Education:Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Able to read and write English. Possesses basic math skillsExperience: Three to six months on the job training or previous experience preferred.Required Skills and Abilities:Ability to read, write and perform math calculationsAbility to walk and stand for long periods of time - up to 100% of the work day.Ability to lift and push up to 50 lbs.Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for up to 50% of work time.Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with staff and other department personnel and patients.Frequent walking and standing. Must be able to work above the head and low to the ground. Occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing.Potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, blood, bodily fluid, tissues.What you will do: Set-up and clean-up of tray lines assembly area to include (not limited to) hot and cold food items, silverware, dishes, napkins, salads, desserts, breads and beverages.Prepares work stations by stocking food and non-food items and equipment (as necessary)Work on assembly tray line stations and read tray tickets to provide correct food itemsLoad trays on delivery cartsRemove soiled serving trays from patient units, buses patient and customer serving traysOperate elevator to deliver and pick-up carts to patient care units and outpatient clinics.Take food service supplies (as needed) to patient rooms and outpatient clinicsDeliver meals to patients' bedside. Assist with all needs/respond/resolve all concerns and requests.Communicate with portable telephones to assure all patients' needs are met. Operate mechanical dishwasher, clean equipment, kitchen areas and unload food from delivery carts.Cleans and sanitizes all metal ware cooking pots, pans, and utensils serving ware.May be asked to prepare simple foods like sandwiches and salad.Maintains various records such as tray delivery/pick-up schedule.CashierUnder general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, operates a computerized cash register to record Department items sold. Reconciles cash and register documentation at the end of the day. Performs other Department duties as assigned. Demonstrates excellent customer services skills.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Education:High School Diploma or GED preferred. Able to speak, read, and write English. Possesses basic math skills. Required Skills and Abilities:Strong interpersonal skills necessary to effectively greet, interact and communicate with customers, patients and Health System employees.Ability to read and write. Ability to understand instructions and communicate with customers.Ability to perform non-complex arithmetic and calculations including receiving cash and providing change for customers.Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail to ensure accuracy.Ability to concurrently perform and prioritize multiple tasks while coping with frequent interruptions.Ability to stand for up to 80% of work time.Requires Lifting over 45 pound frequentlyDUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITES: Greets customers, patients and Health System employees with courtesy. Demonstrates excellent customer services skills to provide a remarkable customer experience.Organizes the cashier area to receive customers by procuring currency bags and filling cash register and credit card machines with tape and ink as needed.Accurately operates a computerized cash register to compute charges and assigns appropriate cost exceptions (e.g., employee/customer discount). Identifies items and matches to the appropriate department key. Receives cash, checks, credit cards, etc. and processes as appropriate. Assumes accountability for cash, etc. at the end of each shift by verifying register tapes, posting necessary adjustments. Assists with balancing cash drawers. Complies with Health System and Department policies, procedures, practices and regulations when handling currency, checks, charges, etc.Ensures cash drawer has the appropriate level of cash available and obtains additional change as necessary.Maintains food product inventory including ordering from approved vendors, monitoring inventory levels to maximize turnover and minimize spoilage and waste.
