5 days a week/ up to 29 hours a week - Normal hours will be 8am-130pm

Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable Food Service staff to join our team. This position involves preparing, serving, and cleaning up after meals while adhering to health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for promoting healthy eating habits among students and work collaboratively with kitchen staff and school personnel to create a positive dining experience.
Responsibilities:
Essential Duties:
Follow health and safety standards, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
Regularly clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas. Help with clean up and dishes daily.
Interact positively with students, staff, and faculty to create a welcoming environment.
Address student dietary needs and preferences, providing assistance as needed.
Assist in receiving, storing, and inventorying food and supplies.
Help manage kitchen supplies to ensure that adequate stock levels are maintained.
Participate in waste management and recycling initiatives.
Work cooperatively with other food service staff to ensure efficient operation of the kitchen.
Participate in staff training sessions and professional development opportunities as required.
Responsible for all phases of food preparation and serving.
Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
Supervise students during meal periods.
Regular and predictable attendance.
Cognitive Demands:
Ability to recall and follow all protocols set by the USDA and the Academy
Must be able to maintain a clean and safe work environment
Have successful written and verbal communication
Ability to supervise multiple students at once
Physical Demands:
Occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
Stand, walk, reach, lift, push, pull, talk or hear frequently
Withstand all demands presented by outside weather conditions at any time of the year
Withstand a moderate noise level
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience in food service or a similar role is a plus, but not required.
Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
