Our campus is located at 1601 Maple Street, Carrollton, GA 30118.
Faculty and staff members are expected to be physically present on campus as needed to support the in-person educational experience and on-campus vitality at the University of West Georgia. Depending upon teaching assignments and student demand, this could include the Carrollton or Newnan campuses.
Job Summary
The position will perform a variety of tasks such as preparation of large quantities of food following standardized recipes and prep sheets. Position will also assist in the replenishment of food and serving of food. This position will also handle financial aspects of the business such as cashiering, inventory, etc. Responsible for cash handling, reconciliation, and register till accuracy. This position requires a credit check due to the cash handling responsibilities.
Responsibilities

May direct and participate in the work of the Food Service Worker I and II. This work includes assisting in the preparation of the food service facility for the serving of food, the preliminary preparation of food items, counting and setting out an appropriate number of food trays, and setting out food and beverages according to established procedures. Assisting in the serving of students, faculty, staff, and community members.

Operates the cash register and handles cash in a responsible manner if assigned by the Supervisor. Handle financial aspects of the business such as cashiering, deposits, change orders, cash auditing, and additional duties as assigned.

Monitors, controls, and records the quantity of food products produced and leftover each day. Assist in the on-the-job training of new hires and designated food service employees. Set up and maintain all station sanitation requirements. Ensure that all work areas and serving areas are in clean, sanitary and safe condition.

Any and all other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
High School Diploma / GED
Required Experience
Completion of 8th grade or 5 years of work experience. Must have the ability to add, subtract, and make change accurately and quickly. Must have good communication and customer service skills. This position requires a credit check due to the cash handling responsibilities. May provide guidance or instruction to regular employees and student assistants.

Basic ServSafe Certification or knowledge. Two to three years of work experience in the food service industry preferred. Supervisory experience preferred.
Proposed Salary
$13.23 to $14.50 hourly. Paid on a bi-weekly basis.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting 50 pounds, bending, stooping, and standing for prolonged periods. Potential for exposure to extremes of heat and cold. Physical Requirements Hazards - Include a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current or exposure to chemicals. Lifting ¿ up to 20lbs or greater
SKILLS
Must be able to make proper decisions related to food safety and sanitation as well as decisions to solve customer concerns. Not following food safety and sanitation protocol could lead to food borne illness.
