Description:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (Note: These duties are not exclusive; other duties may be assigned as needed.)

• Food Service & Dining Setup: Prepare the dining area for service by filling ice machines, maintaining water levels in steam tables, organizing hot/cold food displays, and setting out milk, juice, and fruit.
• Kitchen Assistance: Support cooks with daily food preparation by fetching ingredients, lifting supplies, and completing other routine kitchen tasks. Pack food for dorm meals and special events.
• Sanitation & Cleanup: Ensure top-notch cleanliness across all serving, dining, and kitchen areas. Thoroughly clean refrigerators, food carts, milk coolers, dishwashers, beverage dispensers, floors, tables, and doors. Collect and dispose of all garbage daily.
• Restocking & Inventory: Replenish napkins, utensils, and other dining containers before the next meal service. Assist storekeeping with receiving, organizing, and properly rotating incoming food deliveries.
• Event Support: Provide support for special campus events throughout the year (requires occasional overtime).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

• Physical Requirements: Must be able to comfortably lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Kitchen Competency: Basic understanding of commercial kitchen equipment and standard kitchen safety/sanitation practices.
• General Skills: Basic reading, writing, and math skills are required to manage inventory, follow recipes, and organize deliveries.
