Food Service Worker - Lutheran Hospital

Legacy Staffing has partnered with a World-Class Hospital in Cleveland, OH to hire a Food Service Worker. We are hiring for first and second shift opportunities at a pay rate starting at $15/hour.  This role focuses on food preparation support, trayline operations, dishwashing, sanitation, cafeteria service, catering assistance, and maintaining a safe and clean food service environment while ensuring compliance with HACCP, local, state, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately set up and maintain patient traylines with correct food items, utensils, and portion sizes.
• Ensure hot foods remain hot and cold foods remain cold according to food safety guidelines.
• Deliver exceptional customer service in cafeteria, coffee shop, and patient dining environments.
• Clean, sanitize, and restock trayline, kitchen, and food preparation areas according to department procedures.
• Operate dishwashing and kitchen equipment safely while maintaining an adequate supply of clean dishes, utensils, cookware, and serving items.
• Prepare and deliver catering orders while ensuring professional presentation and timely service.
• Properly store, label, date, and rotate food items according to food safety standards.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment that meets local, state, federal, and healthcare regulatory requirements.
• Follow cash handling procedures when assigned to retail food service areas.
• Safely use and maintain kitchen equipment including dish machines, warmers, refrigerators, microwaves, toasters, and pot wash stations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support department operations.

• Previous food service, hospitality, restaurant, cafeteria, or healthcare food service experience preferred.
• Ability to read and write basic information and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices preferred.
• Ability to push and pull carts weighing up to 350 pounds.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist, and work in varying temperatures and noise levels.
• Must follow all standard precautions and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.

• 1st Shift: 6:30 AM - 3 PM; rotating holidays and weekends
• 2nd Shift: 10:30 - 7 PM; rotating holidays and weekends
